Graphene oxide and graphene production by chemical methods

The aim of this study was to prepare graphene oxide nanoplatelets and reduced graphene oxide from highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and from graphite waste powder, by a top-down methodology based in chemical reactions. And to characterize their composition, morphology and structure using spectroscopic and microscopic techniques: Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
