MIRAGED Strategic Programme enters its final stretch with positive perspectives from the consortium
The MIRAGED Strategic Programme has entered its final stretch with positive and high perspectives from the consortium. The initiative is set to be completed in 2022. The consortium has confirmed that, at this stage of the year, the milestones and objectives have been met and that it is on track to conclude the Strategic Programme successfully.
This was made known during the online MIRAGED follow-up meeting. The representatives of the five technology centres that make up the consortium –the CTC Technology Centre, Ikerlan, CEIT, Idonial and IDEKO – updated the technical advances implemented within each work package and the training, dissemination and industrial transfer activities carried out during this first part of the year. The review of the project indicators has yielded very positive data.
In this respect, CTC continues to strengthen its capabilities in developing digital twins for the industry and to consolidate its position as a centre of excellence in this technological field.
Verónica González de Lena, head of CTC’s Industry and Energy area, highlighted the progress that the centre’s team has made in identifying structures and mechanical components from sectors in which to apply digital twins and developing algorithms that provide real-time information on the state of the element.
The meeting also included two training sessions developed by researchers of the CTC. Roberto Bascones highlighted the recently completed TWINCAN project, through which a digital twin of a pressure vessel has been developed. The second presentation, given by Fernando González, focused on directly applying reduced-order models to obtain the accumulated fatigue damage in mooring chains, a high-value solution in marine energy.
The MIRAGED Strategic Programme is part of the Call for the Accreditation Procedure and granting aid to Cervera Technology Centres of Excellence for 2019 (CER-201910001). Its main objectives are to foster leadership and collaboration in the industrial field, promote specialisation in the priority technologies of the Cervera Network and improve the impact of the economy.
