Water-based functional paints based on nanoadditives
Organic coatings are widely used for the protection of metals against corrosion, due to their scalability and ease of application, but they have numerous disadvantages from an environmental point of view. The possibilities for improving the environmental impact of these coatings include minimising the use of solvents, eliminating toxic pigments and making efficient use of materials. It is therefore a work to be carried out from a global point of view, in which different aspects of the paints have to be dealt with. In this project, these aspects are treated with through the combined use of water-based resins or biopolymers and nanotechnology.
