To achieve this, the consortium, led by the CTC Technology Centre, is developing a series of novel enabling technologies, which the project&#8217;s Advisory Board has highlighted as of great relevance to boosting floating offshore wind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The MooringSense partners have recently had the third meeting with this body, whose main mission is to closely follow the project&#8217;s development and advise the consortium to ensure the future exploitation of the results and innovations achieved. <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragadosoffshore.com\/HTML\/index.php\/home.html\">Dragados Offshore,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siemensgamesa.com\/en-int\">Siemens Gamesa<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrel.gov\/\">National Reniewable Energy Laboratory <\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dnv.com\/\">DNV GL<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.film-ocean.com\/\">Film Ocean <\/a>are the expert companies that make up the Advisory Board and contribute to aligning the research, so the project results respond to the challenges and needs of the market.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, <strong>the Advisory Board reaffirmed that the project was on the right track and that the technologies being developed to improve floating offshore wind energy efficiency are highly relevant. <\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7399\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7399\" style=\"width: 315px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7399\" src=\"https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"315\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211.png 940w, https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211-768x644.png 768w, https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211-705x591.png 705w, https:\/\/centrotecnologicoctc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200211-450x377.png 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 315px) 100vw, 315px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7399\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Conceptual representation of MooringSense<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The body highlighted the operational advantage of the SmartSensor, a smart device developed to monitor the movement of floating platforms, which is already being tested in a real maritime environment. The innovation comes from combining structural life monitoring technology and Digital Twins to determine the loads on mooring lines.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the Advisory Board emphasised Digital Twins to optimise the definition of strategies that determine the structural integrity of platforms. This technology allows for a real-time update of the mooring systems, which provides information on their remaining service life.<\/p>\n<p>The Advisory Board also highlighted the challenge of implementing a structural health monitoring system in a marine environment -offshore wind platforms, a very new environment for this technology-.
